3. Muslims living above the 80th floor should fast longer during Ramadan according to Dubai’s leading clerics. It’s because people in higher floors can still see the sun after it has set on the ground.

4. The doors in Burj Khalifa have smart wind-tracking device that indicates whether or not it is safe to open the doors. Over 40 wind tunnel tests were conducted to examine the effects the wind would have on the tower and its occupants.

5. Under normal conditions, with all building maintenance units in operation, it will take 3 to 4 months to clean the entire exterior façade.

6. At the peak of its construction, 12,000 workers worked on the building per day. One person would take more than 7,534 years to complete construction.

7. The hymenocallis or spider lily, a flower widely cultivated in Dubai and the GCC, is the inspiration for the structural design of Burj Khalifa.

8. The elevators taking visitors to the Observation Deck feature special soundtracks developed specifically for Burj Khalifa. The rhythm and beats build up to a crescendo as the elevators ascen to their destination.

9. There are more than 17,000 doors in Burj Khalifa
